Asda Online Doctor prices were not read from Asda's own pages

Asda's site blocked our reads when this release was prepared. Its six Mounjaro prices and six Wegovy injection prices were taken instead from a comparison blog, a news article and web searches, and its Wegovy pill price of £98.97 was Asda's June pre-order price. All thirteen were listed here as if they had been read from Asda's own page. They should not have been.

We have since checked them against copies of Asda's own pages saved by the Internet Archive. Its copy of Asda's Wegovy page from 27 July 2026, four days before this release, shows the 7.2mg dose at £258.97, not the £248.97 printed here. The other five Wegovy prices match that copy. Its copy of Asda's Mounjaro page from 18 June 2026 matches all six Mounjaro prices. There is no archived copy of Asda's Wegovy pill page, so we cannot say what Asda charged for the pill on 31 July.

What that means for the figures above. Correcting the 7.2mg price changes nothing on this page: Asda sits below the middle either way, so the Wegovy 7.2mg median stays at £285.97 and SheMed stays the cheapest at £239.00. The Wegovy pill 1.5mg figure does matter. Without Asda's pre-order price, the 1.5mg median would have been £109.99 rather than the £105.00 shown above, and the cheapest price would have been £99.00 at Chemist4U and Cloud Pharmacy (Pharmacy Online also listed £99.00, but as a pre-order price) rather than £98.97 at Asda.

Nothing above has been edited. The index stays at 100 and the basket cost at £3134.37, as published. From the September 2026 release, pre-order prices and low-confidence readings never count towards a median or the cheapest price, every price read from September onwards comes from the pharmacy's own website, and each release is compared with July recalculated on those rules. Asda's September prices were read on Asda's own pages.

Other prices here that were not read from the pharmacy's own page

Asda was not the only case. When a pharmacy's page could not be read in June 2026, some prices were taken from comparison websites or search results instead: all 7 of Pharmacy2U's prices in this release, all 11 of Superdrug Online Doctor's, all 6 of ZAVA's, all 6 of e-Surgery's, all 6 of The Independent Pharmacy's, all 6 of Click Pharmacy's, both of Oushk Pharmacy's, and Simple Online Pharmacy's 6 Mounjaro prices, five of which were a comparison site's own estimates. Most are marked medium or low confidence in our dataset, but this page linked every one of them to the pharmacy's own page, which suggested each had been read there.

We cannot say what those pharmacies were charging on 31 July, because we did not read their pages at the time. Each of them was read on its own website for the September 2026 release, except The Independent Pharmacy, whose page shows no price for each Mounjaro dose. From September, the dataset's tests fail if a price read from September onwards names a source outside the pharmacy's own website.

Automated collection did not start with the next release

This page says the automated monthly collection would begin with the next release. It did not. The September 2026 release was collected in one supervised session rather than by a scheduled pipeline. The methodology now describes how each release was actually collected.
