Boots Online Doctor is the online clinic run by Boots, the high-street chemist. Boots Digital Health Ltd provides the service, and its website says that company is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the regulator for health services in England. The clinical team is made up of doctors, pharmacist prescribers and nurse prescribers.
Orders you have delivered are dispensed by Boots Central Support Pharmacy, at the company's head office in Nottingham. When we checked the GPhC register on 9 October 2026, it was registered under number 1096181, owned by Boots UK Limited, with no notices or conditions on its registration.
How the consultation works
You answer health questions online, choose collection or delivery, and pay. One of Boots' clinicians then looks at everything and may ask follow-up questions, and treatment is only offered if it's suitable. Boots says it aims to look at every order within 24 hours. For some services it confirms your identity with a selfie and a photo of a document with your name on it.
Delivery and support
Delivery: Collect from a Boots store, which Boots says is the fastest option, or have it delivered by Royal Mail. Delivery is free for almost all services, but items that need temperature-controlled Special Delivery cost extra.
Support: Phone support seven days a week (8.30am to 6pm on weekdays, 9.30am to 4.30pm at weekends) and secure messaging in your account. The dispensing pharmacy has its own phone line, open 9am to 5.30pm every day, if you want to speak to a pharmacist about your medicine.
Good to know
- Boots' weight-management service also includes a health coach, a free app with a 10-week programme, and free weigh-ins and advice in more than 1,500 Boots stores. Boots says you get 12 extra months of free clinical support when you stop treatment.
- The latest published GPhC inspection of the dispensing pharmacy was on 1 August 2023 and found all standards met. That's more than three years ago, so it may not reflect the pharmacy today. It did note that pharmacists sometimes had to go looking for extra information for their clinical checks, rather than having it to hand.
