How Healthcount works

Healthcount combines low-burden inputs, drift detection, and calm prompts into a maintenance layer that stays quiet when things are stable — and speaks up when signals suggest something is changing.

Inputs: what Healthcount uses

Healthcount is designed around data minimisation. Members share only what's needed:

Weight datapoint

An occasional weigh-in — not daily. Used as a lagging indicator alongside earlier signals.

Medication schedule (optional)

Dose day and lightweight missed-dose check-ins. Helps detect medication gaps before they become stop–start cycles.

Activity and sleep (optional)

Connected where available. Disrupted sleep or reduced activity can be early drift signals.

Short check-ins

Prompted only when drift signals are detected. Quick, low-effort responses — not long questionnaires.

Drift signals

Weight change is often the last thing to show. Healthcount looks for earlier signals that maintenance may be slipping:

  • Missed medication doses or extending gaps between doses
  • Return of appetite or cravings after a period of suppression
  • Side-effect friction (nausea, fatigue, GI discomfort)
  • Disrupted sleep patterns or reduced activity levels
  • Reduced confidence in the process or growing ambivalence
  • Extended periods without any check-in

Next useful actions

When a drift signal is detected, Healthcount selects one practical next step. It doesn't overwhelm with multiple tasks. Examples:

“Your last weigh-in was three weeks ago. A quick check-in helps keep the picture clear.”

“You mentioned appetite returning. That's worth noting — it's one of the early signals.”

“Side effects are affecting your routine. This might be worth discussing with your prescriber.”

Quiet by default

Maintenance is a long game. Most days, nothing needs to change and nothing needs to be said. Healthcount respects that. It doesn't send daily reminders, create streaks, or reward you for logging. It stays quiet when things look stable — and that quiet is intentional, not a bug.
